Expert judgment
stays local.
Local operation, deterministic calculations and traceable evidence.
Local AI is an integrated development preview; the app manages the runtime and models are prepared in the app.
Choose local or online per conversationThe local engine is used by default; compatible APIs such as DeepSeek and Tongyi can also be configured in the workspace. Online responses require explicit consent within the conversation to send an analysis summary.
Business metrics, calculated precisely by softwareThe point-of-sale module calculates receipts, sales volume and gross profit by date and location. Dish structure has switched to the Hyperdimensional Cube; the Python calculation module is awaiting integration. Overall gross margin is not estimated when costs are missing.
Conversation history and traceable dataEach conversation is saved locally and can be searched, resumed and managed. Enable PopoClaw central-platform data retrieval per conversation to combine local metrics with responses and identify data sources.

Installation & model setup
1. Install the appOpen the DMG and drag PopoClaw into Applications. This development preview supports macOS 14+ and Apple Silicon (M series); Intel and Windows installers are not yet available. It is not signed or notarized with an Apple Developer ID, so macOS may prevent it from opening.
2. Prepare a model in the appOpen the Local AI setup panel in the workspace, check device requirements, then download and verify a model. The runtime is bundled, so there is no need to install Node, Python or Ollama or run terminal commands. The online edition's initial model download is about 2.5 GB; basic use requires at least 8 GB of memory, and 24 GB is recommended for Hermes analysis. Installation and the first question on a fresh Mac are still awaiting validation.
3. Start analyzingImport CSV / XLSX files or use fictional examples to explore point-of-sale metrics, trends and dish contribution. Rule-based calculations remain available while a model is being prepared. Conversation history is retained; select a model at the lower right of the input box, then link analysis results or enable data retrieval from the central platform below.
